Everywhere you look there are articles about New Year resolutions, diet changes, new exercise programs and so on. You know the drill. Sometimes is seems that’s all there is for two months.
I’ll let you in a little secret- I enjoy reading all about these things. My resolutions were made a month ago and a dashboard created on my Happy Planner. That way, I see them every day and multiple times a day. A little reminder never hurt anyone . However, you know when the Universe gives a little push? If you don’t pay attention, it’ll send another and so on until you finally give in. Sometimes there have been missed opportunities along the way. Sometimes you are able to recognize what is happening in time to benefit fully.
The past several months have brought into my world lots of things surrounding meditation, visualization and mindfulness. I did start meditating briefly in the mornings. It’s a little hard to do when your alarm goes off and your pooches bladder kicks in immediately. The risk reward just doesn’t pay off if you know what I mean.
So I try to do a little here and there. I did try on the train while commuting and missed my stop so that’s not an option really. My goal is to do a minimum of 10 minutes a day. Think I might try before bed. Could be a good option and may help with sleep. Ariana Huffington is a huge fan of meditating and getting the appropriate amount of sleep. I’ll try it out over the next few weeks and let you know how things go.
